Running on Faith: The Life and Soul Agronomist

As a Keynote Speaker, Rick E. Meyer uses human perspective and real-life experiences to share the true foundation of athletics and human performance. During his uplifting presentations, Rick connects these examples to ways to create success in our daily lives, sending listeners away with the ability to “imagine greatness.”

Rick became the 2008 Toastmasters District 24 International Speech Champion in June 2008. He placed among the top 4 speakers in Toastmasters District 24 in April 2003. Rick is a member and past president of NPPD Toastmasters in Columbus , NE. Rick is currently serving as president of Professionally Speaking Toastmasters, an advanced Toastmasters club, in Sioux City , IA. Rick is also past president of Hastings Speakeasy Toastmasters, past member of Hastings ’ Sunrise Rotary, and past board member of the Midwest Feed, Forage and Alfalfa Testing Consortium.

Having grown up on a farm near Gaylord , KS , Rick moved to the “Little Apple,” Manhattan , KS , after his sophomore year at Smith Center High School . At Manhattan High School Rick was co-captain of the 1984 cross-country team that was alphabetized among the best in America by the The Harrier.

Rick chose to run at Cloud County Community College in Concordia , KS prior to attending Kansas State University . Upon graduating from Kansas State University , he trained and voluntarily assisted with the University of Nebraska at Kearney cross-country and track teams. The cross-country teams earned NCAA Division II championship places of 8th, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th between 1990 and 1995. This experience combined with being an assistant at Manhattan High School while attending college, allowed him to assist numerous collegiate All-Americans and several high school All-Americans.

Rick placed 49th internationally and 10th American in the 1995 Boston Marathon along with 86th internationally and 12th American in the 1996 New York City Marathon. Additionally, he has two top-30 finishes in the Twin Cities Marathon in Minnesota .

He is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy.

Rick is currently pursuing a Masters degree at Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, TX.
